The length of 10.1 km is the one - one - way. Total day length is thus the double. Estimated time of 8 hours is considered t / r, day trip. The Trolltongue is a mountain cliff 700 meters above Ringedalsvannet in Skjeggedal. The view from the Trolltongue is mildly spectacular, and the feeling when you step on the Tongue is an adventure you will remember for a long long time. Exit from Highway 13 in Tyssedal and drive a narrow but good road approx. 7 km up to Skjeggedal. Here you can park where the funicular (trolley car) starts. The trolley line is no longer in operation due to new EEA directives. To the right of the car path you will find the path up to Måglitopp. There is a clear and well used, but steep trail that rises about 450 meters. The trail goes on relatively flat inward. Turn right and follow the sign and T-marked trail. Then go to Trombeskar where the trail takes off against Tyssevassbu.The trail to Trolltunga continues eastward and down to Store Floren, where you can see pieces of a stable for horses used by plant operations for power development in the early 1900s. There is running water and a nice picnic area. Moreover, the trip over Hesteflåene and the river Endåno, where you can see quite clearly traces of construction. The path goes on past Tysshøl which has a nice beach. Now, you are almost there with the tour's highlight: Trolltunga. It is possible to walk to the edge but show extreme caution! From the area it is possible to reach other cottages on the western plateau as Tyssevassbu, Kvanntjønsbu and Mosdalsbu. There are many spectacular viewpoints around Ringedalsvatnet, and a half hour walk south you come to the pulpit.

The mountain can be rough, due to weather changes. The trip to the Troll's Tongue goes through tough terrain. Appropriate shoes and clothing are important. In Odda down town you will find professionals and shops that can help you choose the correct gear.
